Protect your school trips with our Travel Insurance... Off Site Activity Insurance just got simpler!
Here are just a few of the key questions that a teacher asks when considering insurance for school trips along with our response:
Q. What trips do I need to insure?
Don't worry, our policy covers all activities organised by the school outside of their boundary… from a walk in the park to activities abroad.
Q. How much administration will be involved?
We need to know your pupils numbers – that's pretty much it! The annual premium is based on pupil no.'s - from as little as 67p per pupil (staff, governors & voluntary helpers are automatically covered under the policy)
Q. What if I forget to arrange insurance?
Our annual (non-declaration) policy automatically provides blanket cover for all off site activities anywhere in the world – (we list a few countries where it makes sense for insurers to request prior approval)
Q. Do I need to tell insurers every time that staff/pupil numbers change?
With some insurance’s you will, but not under the AIS blanket policy.
Q. Will the insurance cover winter sports? If so, will the insurance cost more?
Our non-adjustable annual premium covers all off site activities. There is no supplementary charge for winter sports or ‘hazardous’ activities (the only activity you need to refer beforehand is flying other than as a passenger or use of aerial devices)
Q. Do I need to inform insurers of an individuals pre-existing conditions?
Providing that an individual is fit to travel i.e. not travelling against the advice of a medical practitioner, our policy will respond subject to the standard terms/conditions. If you’re particularly concerned about an unusual condition, then by all means give us a call.
Q. Do I need to arrange cover if pre-visiting venues to approve suitability?
Our policy automatically covers such trips as well as covering staff on external courses & conferences.
Q. Do I need to consider Visa’s or vaccinations?
The AIS Off Site Activity scheme includes pre-travel advice on Visa’s, overseas driving or possible vaccination requirements.
Q. What support is there in the event of an emergency?
Each school client receives a supply of emergency assistance cards so that the trip leaders have access to 24-hour international assistance in the event of serious illness or injury (provided by Chubb Assistance)
Q. Do I need to check the suitability &/or credibility of the insurer?
The AIS policy is provided by Chubb Insurance Company of Europe who already provide cover for numerous schools and LEAs throughout the UK (includes Medical Expenses cover up to £5,000,000 & Personal Liability up to £2,000,000)
